Wayland sets vaccination capacity at up to 1,200 doses per day

WAYLAND — January 19, 2021 — Wayland prepares town-run vaccination clinics targeting up to 1,200 doses per day. Town Administrator Louise Miller told the Board of Selectmen Jan. 19 that Wayland has registered as a vaccination site, is evaluating three locations, and could complete vaccinations of the town's roughly 12,000 residents in "10 to 12 full days." New weekly cases fell to 26 from 49. The board opened with the announcement of the death of Detective Christopher Cohen, an 18-year veteran; Chair Cherry Carlson said he "very much looked out for senior residents." The board also walked through 39 articles for 2021 Annual Town Meeting, voted 5-0 to approve Jan. 2 and Jan. 4 minutes, and held six donations to a COVID/schools fund pending clarity on whether the district will use state surveillance testing.
