Wayland senior center goes out to bid, with contract vote set for Nov. 6

WAYLAND — October 2, 2023 — Wayland's long-planned senior community center is officially out to bid. Council on Aging Vice Chair William Sterling told the board Monday the project was posted with the Central Register, with bids due Nov. 2 and a Select Board contract vote targeted for Nov. 6. Sterling and member Frank Kennedy said construction inflation is "softening" and that City Point Partners, the owner's project manager, expects multiple hungry bidders. Director Julie Secord reported the office filled a two-year administrative vacancy with Paula Wynn, who starts Oct. 11, and logged 665 outreach contacts in FY23. The board also weighed a roughly $158,000-per-year MWRTA hospital shuttle grant shared with Sudbury and Weston, with the three towns covering 20 percent. The board next meets Nov. 13 at 4 p.m.
