Wayland Select Board elects Martin chair, Levine vice-chair
WAYLAND -- April 22, 2025, Wayland Select Board elects Martin chair and Levine vice-chair in unanimous reorganization. The 5-0 vote, on a motion by Thomas J. Fay, installed Carol B. Martin as chair and Doug Levine as vice-chair, with outgoing chair William Whitney remaining on the board; Levine credited Whitney with a "great wit" that "levels the room." The board then voted 4-0 to authorize up to $33,175 for Wayland's 250th anniversary celebration running through July 4, 2026, and 4-0 to create a nine-member working group to study reuse of 212 Cochituate Road under Article 30, reporting by Feb. 15, 2026. Town Clerk Trudy Reid reported 610 in-person election-day voters across a single consolidated polling site, and the board agreed to extend the trial through the 2026 state elections. A 4-0 vote also adopted a new town social media policy.
