Wayland CPC re-elects officers and approves fall application calendar

WAYLAND — September 17, 2025 — Wayland CPC re-elects leadership and locks in a fall schedule for new project requests. At its first meeting since January, the Community Preservation Committee unanimously re-elected Chair Susan Weinstein, Vice-Chair Doug Stotz and Clerk Maureen Cavanaugh, and renewed its $4,350 Community Preservation Coalition membership from the administrative fund. Stotz reported the town collected nearly $1.2 million from the CPA surcharge last year and projects $1.45 million in fiscal 2026 revenue, or roughly $1.075 million after Mainstone Farm debt service, with about $2.1 million in past appropriations still unspent — "about two years' worth of the taxpayers' money," he said. Recreation alone holds nearly $1.25 million of that backlog. Applications will be due November 13, with recommendations set for December 3 and Town Meeting on May 4.
