Wayland Housing Partnership sets tentative Nov. 12 date for ADU forum

WAYLAND — September 17, 2025 — Wayland Housing Partnership targets Nov. 12 for ADU forum as Good Shepherd project stalls. The committee on Sept. 17 approved a third draft of a public forum on the town's new accessory dwelling unit bylaw, jointly developed with the Planning Board, and divvied up nine boards to recruit as co-sponsors. Member Rachel Bratt reported that the Planning Office of Urban Affairs is targeting first- or second-quarter 2026 construction at the former Good Shepherd Parish, but the state Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities won't commit to funding until a Conservation Commission appeal of a state superseding order of conditions is resolved. Federal tax credits are already approved. "Whatever's going on seems to be at our end," Bratt said. Member James Grumbach will contact ConCom Chair Sheridan Fay. The annual report was approved 5-0 with two edits.
