Wayland CPC moves application deadline to Nov. 14, re-elects officers

WAYLAND — September 30, 2024 — Wayland CPC moves FY26 application deadline up by two weeks and re-elects its leadership. The Community Preservation Committee voted unanimously Monday to set a Nov. 14 deadline for funding applications — down from Nov. 30 — and to cap applicant presentations at five minutes followed by 10 minutes of questions, after last year's review meetings ran past 10:30 p.m. Chair Susan Weinstein and Vice Chair Doug Stotz were re-elected without opposition, and Recreation Commission representative Lesley Stewart was welcomed as a new member. The committee approved $4,303 from its administrative fund for Community Preservation Coalition dues, accepted the Wayland Municipal Affordable Housing Trust Fund's annual report and signed off on the committee's annual report to the state with edits. Member Mike Lowry pressed colleagues to add ongoing-maintenance cost disclosures to the application, arguing the committee should not "encourage a project which is going to have a heavy ongoing maintenance plan."
