Select Board interviews three finalists for Wayland town administrator
WAYLAND -- July 9, 2018, Wayland Select Board begins town administrator finalist interviews with a possible same-night vote. Chair Lea Anderson opened the July 9 meeting and laid out back-to-back interviews with Louise Miller, Andrew Scribner-MacLean and Graham Waters, with deliberation set for around 9 p.m. Consultant Bernie Lynch of Community Paradigm Associates told members to use the standard questions as "conversation starters" and probe each candidate's fit with the board and community. Miller, a former Medford budget, personnel and procurement official now at the MWRA, described her management style as "more of a coach" and said Wayland's mix of finance, personnel and project management demands matched her background. The board also approved an amended consent calendar 5-0 after dropping a duplicate $6,802.36 legal bill flagged by resident Brian O'Hurley, and broadened the chair's authority to re-release redacted executive session minutes tied to closed legal matters.
