Wayland subcommittee locks in June 20 deadline for superintendent evaluation

WAYLAND — May 13, 2024 — Wayland subcommittee sets June 20 deadline to approve superintendent's year-end evaluation. The two-member Superintendent Evaluation Subcommittee met for about 22 minutes May 13 to lock in logistics, with no public comment and a routine approval of April 23 minutes. Superintendent David will present his 2023-24 goals and accomplishments at the June 5 School Committee meeting; a consolidated written evaluation will return for full-committee approval on June 20, ahead of the state's June 30 deadline. Member Jeannie will draft the document, working question by question and including outlier feedback only when "at least two people" raised it. A more senior member coached her to keep feedback to the superintendent general, urging her to "shy away from saying, in our interviews we found." Fellow member Ellen has already submitted her interview write-up; Chair Erin Givens will be away starting June 15.
