Wayland selectmen re-elect Karlson chair, elevate Levine to vice chair

WAYLAND -- May 6, 2019, Wayland Board of Selectmen re-elects Karlson chair, Levine vice chair on unanimous votes. The reorganization vote, the first since Tom Fay's election to the five-member board, was moved by Mary Antes and seconded by Fay for both seats, with Lea Anderson concurring. Chair Cherry Karlson said two years in the role had been "a big responsibility" but she was "ready to turn that over." Vice Chair Doug Levine, citing prior board experience in Washington, D.C., warned of "a little bit of a wrinkle" in his schedule tied to a family illness. Town Administrator Louise Miller reported a June 5 confidential mediation date in the Cascade 40B case and a July 8 evidentiary hearing in Bernstein v. Town of Wayland. The board also approved a consent-calendar amendment trimming the town's share of a $14,000 legal invoice to $7,000, and heard a resident proposal to build a privately funded $10,000 rowing skull shed at the town beach.
