WAYLAND -- November 6, 2017, Wayland selectmen approve a one-year, $173,800 contract for the town administrator and signal a pass-over on town center land gifts. The board voted in open session Monday to execute the agreement with Town Administrator Nan, retroactive to Sept. 8, after town counsel advised that the town bylaw permits only one- or three-year terms. Separately, selectmen reached consensus to move to pass over Article 8 of the Nov. 14 special town meeting warrant, citing unfinished settlement negotiations with Twenty Wayland; residents Annette Lewis and Linda Siegel said the public had not seen the underlying letter of intent or a 50-page declaration of easements. The board also unanimously authorized five documents completing the Wayland Meadows Lot 8 acceptance, signed paperwork accepting a 52-60 Rice Road conservation-cluster gift from Thomas D. Greenaway, and swore in Lt. Sean Gibbons, the department's training officer since 2010.
