Wayland selectmen approve Coach Grill license transfer, swear in three firefighters

WAYLAND -- September 5, 2018, Wayland selectmen mark Nan Balmer's final meeting and swear in three new firefighter-paramedics. Town Administrator Nan Balmer attended her last regular Select Board meeting Wednesday before her Friday retirement, with successor Louise Miller seated in the audience to begin Monday. Town Clerk Beth Klein swore in firefighter-paramedics Lindsay Byrne, Mitchell Mabardi and Jack Stafford, all bound for a 10-week academy this fall. The board voted 5-0 to approve a change of beneficial interest holders, two new LLC managers and a new manager of record, current general manager David Wilson, for BBRG TR LLC, doing business as The Coach Grill of Wayland at 55 Boston Post Road. Selectmen also divided up 15 articles for the Nov. 13 Special Town Meeting, including four Planning Board marijuana articles and a citizens' petition on a grass athletic field. One member declined to take a position on a National Grid union request, calling it inappropriate to "get involved with a private company and their labor issues."
