Wayland Select Board caps energy revolving fund spending at $50,000

WAYLAND — March 4, 2025 — Wayland Select Board sets $50,000 cap on proposed energy revolving fund. Meeting March 4 with four of five members, the board voted 4-0 to amend Article X creating the fund and to set a fiscal 2026 spending ceiling of $50,000, after Town Manager Michael McCall said the town anticipates about $41,000 in utility rebates next year. Chair Carol B. Martin stressed the measure is "not a budget," noting the fund cannot be spent without incoming revenue. Member Thomas J. Fay raised open meeting law concerns about last-minute changes but joined the unanimous vote. The board also voted 3-0 to re-approve Article BB adopting MGL Chapter 43C, Section 11, and 3-0 to strip movable-furniture language from zoning Article Z at town counsel's recommendation.
