Wayland Select Board appoints Hunter Perry to Zoning Board of Appeals

WAYLAND -- July 10, 2023, Wayland Select Board appoints Hunter Perry to ZBA and approves Dean Road stop sign. The board voted 3-0, with two members absent, to seat Perry, a Boston real estate developer, for a term ending June 30, 2026, after Chair Carol B. Martin and Vice-Chair Doug Levine questioned him on the Mullin Rule and time commitment. Perry said the ZBA was "the most impactful way" to contribute to the town. The board also voted 3-0 to install a stop sign at Dean Road and Old Tavern Road after Acting Chief Ed Burman presented stealth radar data showing 2,049 vehicles over six days and a cut-through pattern tied to signal timing at Oak, Rice and Commonwealth. Town Manager Michael McCall said draft financial policies, modeled on Collins Center templates, will come back in August.
