Wayland names three residents to 212 Cochituate Road housing advisory committee

WAYLAND — June 2, 2025 — Wayland Select Board seats nine-member panel to plan 212 Cochituate Road housing. The board on Monday appointed pediatrician Bill Adams as the abutter representative, retired psychologist Stephanie Lynch as the family-member seat, and former master-plan reviewer Jean Milburn as the third resident, alongside members Thomas J. Fay and William Whitney; the committee must report back by February. Chair Carol B. Martin pointed to the town's 2022 Housing Production Plan finding that Wayland "needs to proactively plan" for group homes for adults with disabilities. Earlier, the board unanimously transferred $150,000 to the special education reserve fund to help close a $1.78 million shortfall described by Director of Finance and Operations Susan Bottan, approved five Class 1 dealer licenses for Asbury Boston Exotics at 531-533 Boston Post Road, and authorized $85,000 for rail trail historical signs. Auditor Alina Korsak of CBIZ reported no material weaknesses and a $15.9 million unassigned fund balance for fiscal 2024.
