Wayland board appoints Bill Huss to Finance Committee seat

WAYLAND — June 3, 2025 — Wayland appoints Bill Huss to Finance Committee in unanimous vote. The Finance Committee Appointing Board voted 3-0 Tuesday to appoint William Huss, a retired industrial engineer and longtime Energy and Climate Committee member, to a three-year term beginning July 1 in the seat held by Brian O'Herlihy. Chair Cherry C. Karlson said the board will keep recruiting for a second open seat, currently held by Pam Roman, with placeholder meetings on June 23 and June 25. Huss, who teaches math and statistics and has served as treasurer of nonprofits including the $100 million May Institute, said he views financial statements as "an instrument panel" for decision-making. Member Carol B. Martin called the Finance Committee "the eyes and the ears of the residents" and proposed buying a Wayland Town Crier ad to advertise vacancies. The board also approved May 6 minutes as amended.
