Wayland Housing Trust delays two projects pending town letters
WAYLAND -- October 29, 2024, Wayland Housing Trust delays two projects pending missing town paperwork. Chair Michael Staiti told the Oct. 29 meeting that the Habitat for Humanity build at 12 Hammond Road cannot proceed without a Select Board letter of support needed to modify its state special permit, and that a $140,000 advance toward a Good Shepherd Parish building permit lacks written assurance from the town that the money would return to the trust if construction never starts. "They're not going to just write us a check for $140,000," Staiti said of the developer. Member Mary M. Antes will press the town manager on both items. The trust held $1,638,000 as of August. Members also took public input for the West Metro HOME Consortium's five-year needs assessment, led by Robert Hummel. Next meeting: Dec. 3.
