Wayland's affordable housing trust approves $11,500 in bills as its Hammond Road project drags into a second year in land court. The Municipal Affordable Housing Trust voted 5-0 to pay ActTwo Architects $2,800 for condominium documents, $7,470 to Wayland Commons for sewer and septic decommissioning at three Chapter 40B units, and up to $1,231.50 to law firm Alcock & Marcus LLC for land court services. Chair Michael Staiti said the land de-registration needed to unlock construction with partner Habitat for Humanity has dragged on "over a year and four months," calling the holdup "administrative incompetency" and now targeting a spring 2027 groundbreaking.
The board also welcomed a new Select Board liaison, identified only as Chris, filling a seat vacant roughly two years, who said a request for proposals for a group home for people with cognitive disabilities at 212 Kikichewit Road was expected out that day.
