Wayland housing trust approves RFP for 12 Hammond Road affordable home

WAYLAND — March 7, 2023 — Wayland's Municipal Affordable Housing Trust advanced its Hammond Road affordable house and backed a parish senior village. The trust voted 6-0 Tuesday to move a draft RFP for 12 Hammond Road to town staff for posting, and 6-0 to ratify a $2,400 Phase I environmental update. Chair Michael Staiti said a second HOME funds award of $67,500 brings federal assistance to roughly $117,000, enough to absorb an estimated $10,000-to-$12,000 in ADA upgrades — "not a bad deal," he said. The account balance was $1,329,031.99 as of December. A separate 6-0 vote authorized an updated DHCD letter of support for Good Shepherd Parish's senior village, specifying the trust's previously committed $250,000 ($150,000 plus $100,000). A home repair loan program remains stalled at KP Law since January.
