WAYLAND — March 8, 2023 — Wayland Conservation Commission cites high school turf field after second chrome rubber release. Chair Sean Fair said crews swept loose rubber from a perimeter drain into a pile beside the field rather than hauling it off, and "basically created another release" into a ditch that drains to the Sudbury River. Administrator Linda Hansen, who found the perimeter drain "full of chrome rubber," said the town needs a better operations and maintenance plan "or they have to redesign the whole drainage system." In other unanimous 5-0 action, members preferred a seven-unit scaled-down version of Chris D'Antonio's Windsor Place townhouse project at 24 School Street over the original 12-unit plan, approved a Dudley Pond dock at 51 Nolwood Lane contingent on a state Chapter 91 license, and conditioned a 37 Campbell Road septic order on a 15-foot vegetated wetland buffer.
