Wayland Historical Commission adopts rotating chair as two members signal exit

WAYLAND -- December 3, 2025, Wayland Historical Commission braces for turnover as two members signal departures. Ann Gordon, chairing in the absence of Chair Bradford Carver, told colleagues Wednesday she would step away soon and clean out her town email for the record, while Tonya Largy said hearing loss and fatigue had her considering resignation before her June 2026 term ends. Sherry Anne Bryant agreed to chair January through March on a rotating basis. Gordon reported the cemetery restoration is 35 percent complete with $155,400 remaining and all contractor invoices in hand. R. Richard Conard called the latest rail trail sign draft from designer Carol Holtz "a big improvement" but flagged disputed wording describing 19th-century Wayland as having "major highways and thriving industry." Members approved corrected Nov. 17 minutes unanimously.
