Wayland Finance Committee Appointing Board fills two open seats

WAYLAND — October 17, 2025 — Wayland fills its two open Finance Committee seats in a 3-0 vote. The Finance Committee Appointing Board on Oct. 17 appointed newcomer Robert Quimby to a term ending June 30, 2028, and formally reappointed Pamela Roman, who had been serving past her term as a courtesy, to a term ending June 30, 2027. Quimby, a tech executive who moved from Arlington nearly two years ago, told Chair Cherry C. Karlson, Town Moderator Miranda S. Jones and member Carol B. Martin that his work in modeling and "data interpretation" lined up with the committee's job of "helping the citizens of the town understand the finances of the town." Martin said she is separately leading an effort to streamline the roughly 130-page town meeting warrant and the Finance Committee report. Appointment letters were to go out the same afternoon, ahead of the committee's Nov. 3 meeting.
