Wayland Audit Committee launches three-year RFP for external auditor

WAYLAND — October 27, 2025 — Wayland Audit Committee restarts three-year auditor RFP with Christmas decision target. The committee on Monday directed procurement officer Kelsey to revise and post a request for proposals covering fiscal 2026 through fiscal 2029, with a tentative Nov. 10 draft review, Thanksgiving submission deadline and a recommendation to the town manager before Dec. 25. Finance Director Brian Keveny told members the technical and price proposals arrive sealed separately and that "you will not know the price at all during this process until it's awarded." Members Michael German, Klaus Shigley and Yutian Zhang declined to broaden the audit's scope to include internal-controls testing, with Keveny warning that such work is better suited to a separate engagement, possibly with an IT firm. The committee unanimously approved June 2 minutes and adjourned 3-0 at 6:06 p.m. Two seats — one Select Board designee, one School Committee designee — remain vacant.
