Wayland Conservation Commission urges redesign of Loker Street supportive housing plan

WAYLAND — October 29, 2025 — Wayland Conservation Commission sends six-unit supportive housing plan back for redesign. The commission voted unanimously Wednesday to continue review of Matt O'Connor's Oak Tree Management project at 67A Loker Street, where a two-story barn would be replaced with housing for people with cognitive, physical and developmental disabilities. Conservation Administrator Linda Hansen said she would not advance the application until the applicant secures a DPW curb cut permit and an approved septic plan, and ordered a peer review of the stormwater report to be coordinated with the Planning Board. Vice Chair Shannon Fischer said the 0.78-acre lot showed "a lot of pavement, a lot of parking" for 12 spaces plus a rear lot. The commission also approved a Chapter 193 permit for 19 Moral Road, issued certificates of compliance at 25 Lee Road and 5 Juniper Lane, and debated raising the $100 fine for commercial dog walkers after Hansen encountered 14 off-leash dogs at Heard Farm.
