WAYLAND -- June 10, 2024, Wayland Trust Fund Commission rotates chair and clears $1,500 for the library. At its June 10 meeting, the three-member commission unanimously elected Adam Garrett Gutbezahl as chair through the close of the 2025 annual town meeting, with outgoing Chair Barry Rothschild handing off the gavel and member Robert Fox saying he would take a turn after that. The panel voted 3-0 to release $600 from the Millennium Fund to cover two $300 ESOL tutor training invoices submitted by library staffer Amy Conway, and 3-0 to approve $900 from the 1863 Draper Fund to digitize a library donor log book from 1848 to 1886, against a $970 vendor quote trimmed by skipping blank pages. Rothschild said the Millennium Fund "is still in that gray area of whether or not we control it or not," and Gutbezahl said his first act as chair will be to ask the Select Board to formally establish a gift fund to take it over.
