Wayland Trust Fund Commission approves $8,100 for library programs

WAYLAND — September 29, 2025 — Wayland Trust Fund Commission unanimously approves $8,100 in library disbursements across four votes. The commission, chaired by Robert Fox and joined by Adam Gutbezahl and Barry Rothschild, signed off 3-0 on a $600 Draper Fund payment for English as a Second Language tutor training, $2,500 from Draper and $1,000 from the Gossels Human Dignity Fund for a speaker series with Dr. Eden-Renee Hayes, and $4,000 from Draper for one-time salary coverage of the library's outreach coordinator after an LSTA grant ran out. Fox said the $7,100 in combined Draper requests fit within the commission's 3.5 percent guideline against a 20-trailing-quarter figure of $8,840.42. Rothschild said splitting the Hayes vote between funds kept the "accounting and the voting clean." Members also approved the 2025 annual report and the May 12 minutes 3-0.
