Select Board recesses to Finance Committee for FY18 budget presentation

WAYLAND -- February 8, 2017, Wayland Select Board recesses immediately to hear Finance Committee's FY18 budget. The board gaveled in at 7:02 p.m. on Feb. 8 in the Town Building, took no public comment, and recessed to the large hearing room to receive the Finance Committee's fiscal 2018 budget presentation, which consumed the bulk of the scheduled 7 to 8:45 p.m. window. Members noted that Wayland schools would be closed the following day, prompting postponement of a 1:30 p.m. library listening session and a League of Women Voters speaker event. The chair told colleagues the board would reconvene only "if we don't need to come back," signaling it might adjourn directly from the Finance Committee room.
