Select Board enters executive session on River's Edge land deal terms

WAYLAND — January 8, 2021 — Wayland Select Board adjourns straight into executive session on River's Edge project. The board voted 5-0 on Jan. 8 to enter closed-door negotiations on the final purchase price, wastewater connection payment terms, and the 12th Amendment to the land disposition agreement for the River's Edge development at 484-490 Boston Post Road. Chair Cherry Karlson said open discussion "may have a detrimental effect on the litigating, negotiating, or bargaining position of the town." Members Lea Anderson, Dave Watkins, Mary Antes and Tom Fay joined her in support; Anderson seconded the motion. No public comment was offered, though Karlson noted a written comment from resident Annette Lewis on a separate wastewater easement matter. The executive session began at 8:36 a.m. with no return to open session planned.
