Design Review Board recommends approval of Terrain garden center on Boston Post Road
WAYLAND -- July 16, 2025, Wayland design board unanimously backs Terrain garden center, cafe and event venue on Boston Post Road. The Design Review Advisory Board voted 3-0 Wednesday to recommend approval of revised plans for 297 and 311 Boston Post Road, with Chair William Sterling, Robin Borgestedt and Tatiana Person citing improved renderings and a charcoal brick wash that replaced earlier solid-black concerns. Project reps Jen Caliagas and Adam Jarvie detailed 75 new trees, 39 evergreen, plus 259 shrubs, 949 perennials and 1,500 native plugs, and a rear flood storage basin requested by the conservation agent. Exterior lights will be shielded, on timers roughly an hour after closing, and parking-lot fixtures refitted with wetland-side cutoffs. "We want to meet code minimum," Caliagas said of lighting levels. Approval is contingent on Zoning Board and Conservation Commission action; a ConCom hearing is set for July 30. The board separately recommended 3-0 approval of Mui Nails Spa signage at 3A Commonwealth Road.
