CPC previews housing, dog park funding bids
Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of October 7, 2026
Wayland's Community Preservation Committee fielded early funding questions from three prospective applicants ahead of its November 13 deadline. A developer identified as Dave outlined a 106-unit housing project at 526 Boston Post Road, with 10 percent of units affordable under MBTA Communities Act zoning, saying he expects to seek roughly $75,000 in CPA funds toward nearly $500,000 in design costs. Chair Susan Weinstein told him "the town has been taking the housing funds from community preservation and moving them over to the housing trust," advising him to pursue both.
Dog park organizer Nicolette Masquerian and Historical Commission member Rick also previewed applications, for amenities on land owned by Wayland Town Center and for excavating the Wayland Railroad Engine House Foundations, respectively. The committee approved its September 16 minutes 5-0-1, with Larry Kiernan abstaining, and adjourned 6-0 at 7:59 p.m.
