Assessors approve September minutes, set tax recap timeline

WAYLAND — October 7, 2024 — Wayland assessors approve September minutes and map out fiscal 2025 tax recap calendar. Meeting remotely Monday night with Chair Zachariah L. Ventress delayed, the Board of Assessors voted 3-0 to accept the Sept. 23 open-session minutes, on a motion from Massimo Taurisano seconded by Vice-Chair Philip David Parks. Member Douglass McNeilly chaired in Ventress's absence. Staff told the board disclosure postcards went out Sept. 26, with the disclosure period set for Oct. 21-25 and a tax classification hearing scheduled with the Select Board for Nov. 18. The office is targeting a Nov. 4 upload to the state Division of Local Services and a Dec. 9 recap submission, with tax bills slated to be mailed Dec. 31. Staff cautioned they "don't want to get in a long queue of services for the DLS" and may call a brief midday signing meeting Wednesday.
