Wayland Assessors elect Ventress chair, Klitgord vice chair, McNeilly secretary

Board of Assessors · Meeting of August 10, 2026

Wayland Assessors reorganize and open FY27 exemption cycle in ten-minute August session. The three-member Board of Assessors voted 3-0 Monday to install Zachariah Ventress as chair, Steven Klitgord as vice chair, and Douglass McNeilly as secretary, resolving a slate that had been tabled in July when McNeilly was absent. The board also approved the July 20 open-session minutes and, after member E.G.

Brennan flagged that her name was misspelled, approved amended minutes from the June 15 joint session with the Select Board. The assessing office director reported a continuing "hard push out in the field, collecting growth," and said fiscal year 2027 exemption applications have been posted online and mailed to prior participants. The board then voted 3-0 to enter executive session to take up eight Appellate Tax Board dockets — seven FY2026 filings from NP Wayland LLC, BOS Retail 1 LLC and Comref Oxbow LLC involving Boston Post Road and Andrew Avenue properties, and one FY2027 personal-property case from Level 3 Communications LLC — and did not return to open session.

Next meeting: September 14.
