Wayland High School issued its eNews newsletter Oct. 30, listing several deadlines, events and reminders for families.

Students who speak and write a language other than English at home can take the Seal of Biliteracy test, which combines with English MCAS scores to show a student is bilingual and biliterate. World Language Department Head Alaina Ghetti is fielding questions, and students must sign up by Dec. 1, 2026.

The Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland is accepting nominations for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, open only to sophomores who live or study in Wayland or Weston. The program recognizes students who invest in "service above self, focusing on leadership and community service," according to the newsletter. The first round of nominations closes Nov. 1, and selected sophomores will be celebrated Nov. 12.

The WHS Theater Ensemble will perform the musical "Mary Poppins" Nov. 19 and 20 at 7 p.m., Nov. 21 at 5 p.m., and Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. Ticket information is available at WHSTE.com.

The Wayland Student Press Network has partnered with Revolution Prep to offer digital SAT and ACT practice exams students can take at home, either with a proctor on a set date or self-proctored. The exams cost $20, with proceeds supporting the Wayland Student Press Network.

The school's Health Office, overseen by Noreen D'Amico, RN, BSN, reminded families that students who need EpiPens or asthma inhalers should carry their own medication at all times, with a backup version allowed in the Health Office. Students must have a current physician's order or Emergency Action Plan, along with parental authorization, updated each school year, and must bring rescue medication on field trips and after-school activities. Families with questions can contact the Health Office at 508-358-3712.
