Wayland ZBA continues two applications, accepts Coach Grill withdrawal

WAYLAND -- April 11, 2023, Wayland ZBA takes no substantive action on three applications, hears Loker field enforcement complaint. Resident Tom Maglione told the board that Special Permit 21-02, issued in July 2021 for the Loker recreation field, required substantive changes to come back for review, and that town consultants Weston and Sampson disclosed plans to irrigate the field with municipal potable water at a February 21 meeting. He said the building commissioner has not responded to a March 26 letter or a March 28 records request, calling the situation a "never-ending limbo." Chair Joshua Warden told him the ZBA cannot compel enforcement and suggested an enforcement request to the building department or a Land Court mandamus action. The board accepted a without-prejudice withdrawal from Coach Grill (55 Boston Post Road) on outdoor seating, and continued the Herb Chambers application (533 Boston Post Road) and the Wolfe shed application (47 Edgewood Road) to May 9. Member Doug Grumbach recused on Herb Chambers, citing his son's employment there.
