Wayland assessors approve $10,510 in March motor vehicle abatements
WAYLAND — April 11, 2023 — Wayland assessors clear $10,510 in March motor vehicle abatements and lock in a new hire. The Board of Assessors voted 4-0 on April 11 to approve 63 motor vehicle excise abatements totaling $10,510.08 for the month of March, with Vice-Chair Philip David Parks presiding in the absence of Chair Zachariah L. Ventress and member Douglass McNeilly. Members Steven Klitgord, Massimo Taurisano and Sharon Burke joined Parks in approving the abatements and in separately accepting minutes from March 20 and March 30. Staff said the top candidate for the open administrative assessor position "has accepted the offer" and is completing a physical and CORI check, with a target start date of about May 1. The board then entered executive session to take up FY 2023 real estate exemptions and abatements and an Appellate Tax Board case involving a 3 Glen Oak Drive property.
