WAYLAND -- February 14, 2023, Wayland zoning board continues Herb Chambers expansion hearing to March 14. The Zoning Board of Appeals voted unanimously Tuesday to continue the hearing on a 13,653-square-foot addition at the 533 Boston Post Road luxury dealership, which sells Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Maserati and Lamborghini vehicles. Attorney Joshua Fox said the project would not increase sales but would let the dealership "work more efficiently and more effectively" with an interior customer drop-off, additional service bays and a 4,500-square-foot parts mezzanine. Lot coverage would rise from just under 20 percent to 26.6 percent and parking from 114 to 144 spaces, drawing pushback from Chair Joshua Warnick over a 1995 variance condition preserving open space. Engineer Dave Newhall presented a 600-plus-page stormwater plan adding catch basins, two CDS water-quality units and subsurface infiltration. The applicant is also seeking a waiver of a traffic impact report and relief from setbacks, lighting, floodplain and soil-movement rules.
