Wayland ZBA approves two home additions, continues three cases
WAYLAND -- November 12, 2024, Wayland ZBA clears two home expansions, renews a 2016 teardown permit, and extends Herb Chambers dealership variances. The Zoning Board of Appeals on Tuesday issued special permits for a single-floor addition at 17 Mayflower Path, presented by architect Carrie Coyne for owner Amelia Gray, and a second-story addition at 183 Oxbow Road, presented by Bill Nolan of Savoie Nolan Architects for the Kanerek family. The board also reauthorized a lapsed 2016 special permit allowing Joseph Doerr to demolish a 1910 cottage at 10 Shop Lane and build new. Attorney Joshua Fox, representing Herb Chambers 533 Boston Post Road LLC, won a six-month extension of January variances for a Porsche service bay, citing utility surprises and environmental cleanup. A 15 Park Ridge application was continued to Dec. 10 after the board found the submitted drawings did not match what the applicant tried to present; the chair called the Mayflower Path case "quirky" because demolition would erase the existing setback violation.
