Wayland Trust Fund Commission elects Fox chair, approves April minutes

WAYLAND — May 12, 2025 — Wayland Trust Fund Commission elects Robert Fox chair as portfolio climbs to $5.13 million. The three-member commission voted 3-0 Monday to install Fox as chair through the close of the 2026 Annual Town Meeting, rotating the role from Adam Garrett Gutbezahl; Barry S. Rothschild moved the appointment. Brian Jamros and Kathleen Cyganiewicz of Bartholomew & Co. reported the town's perpetual trust portfolio rose from $5,067,046 on March 31 to $5,134,000 as of May 9, up 1.4 percent for the quarter and about 1 percent year-to-date. Jamros said the firm added to alternatives on April 10 and warned "we don't see sunshine and rainbows" despite easing U.S.-China trade tensions. Cyganiewicz begins a 12-week parental leave; a six-person team will continue monitoring the account. Commissioners also approved the April 7 minutes 3-0 and adjourned at 12:27 p.m.
