Wayland Trust Fund Commission approves three disbursements totaling roughly $3,400

The commission unanimously approved $196.80 from the Small Fund to the Wayland Free Public Library, up to $220 from the Gossels Family Trust for a bronze plaque honoring this year's C. Peter R. Gossels Good Government Award recipient, and $3,000 from the Greaves Fund to the Cultural Enrichment Committee — $187.99 above the 3.5 percent spending policy ceiling of $2,812.01. Bartholomew & Co.'s Kathleen Cyganiewicz reported the portfolio at $5,067,046.13 as of March 30, with a 6.17 percent inception-to-date return but down roughly 5 percent in April amid tariff turmoil. Commissioner Barry S. Rothschild pressed for action: "I'm not asking you what you plan on doing about it. I'm asking what steps your office is taking." The commission took no position on Article 11, a home-rule petition restoring the Library's Millennium Fund to its purview.
