Wayland Select Board extends town administrator contract through 2022
WAYLAND -- May 8, 2020, Wayland extends town administrator's contract, sets salary at $195,000. The Board of Selectmen voted 5-0 Friday to ratify a memorandum of agreement extending Town Administrator Louise Miller's contract by one year to September 9, 2022, with salary retroactive to September 10, 2019, the date her overdue review had originally been required. Chair Cherry Karlson said the deal "puts the Wayland town administrator position in the lower range of compensation" for the area but provides "stability of her continued leadership." Miller separately reported 25 of 26 new COVID-19 cases were in long-term care, briefed the board on falling meals-tax revenue, and announced Wayland Youth Lacrosse families donated just over $10,000 to the town's relief fund. Miller said the Loker School roof project, 80 percent designed, could yield a firm bid by June 24 in what she called a very favorable construction climate.
