Wayland Select Board clears Touch-a-Truck license for Oct. 19
WAYLAND -- September 17, 2024, Wayland Select Board clears one-day license for Oct. 19 Touch-a-Truck, then enters executive session. Meeting remotely Sept. 17, the board unanimously approved the license as its sole consent-calendar item before voting to close the session for collective-bargaining strategy with the Public Employee Committee and litigation strategy in Town of Wayland v. 3M Company et al. Town Manager Michael McCall told the board the event will be held on Town Center private property in coordination with Arts Wayland and the Recreation Department, and that he was seeking formal approval as a "belt and suspenders approach" because the location required insurance. Member Carol B. Martin flagged a stale 2022 date on the draft contract; McCall said it was a template and final terms would be inserted once confirmed. William Whitney chaired the session, which did not reconvene publicly.
