Wayland Select Board approves X-Golf and Sperry's liquor licenses 5-0
WAYLAND -- August 26, 2019, Wayland Select Board clears two town center liquor licenses on unanimous votes. The board voted 5-0 on Aug. 26 to grant a seven-day all-alcoholic restaurant license to CNC Golf LLC, doing business as X-Golf Wayland, for a 4,639-square-foot indoor golf simulator at 60 and 66 Andrew Avenue, and 5-0 again to transfer Sperry's Liquors at 87 Andrew Avenue from Kevin Jelson to Ronak Patel's Umshave Inc., conditioned on a signed lease. Chair Carol B. Martin said it was the town's last full liquor license available under special legislation. Managing member Rob Granahan said his Michigan tours showed "not a heavy bar scene"; the venue is slated to open in October with 55 seats. Housing Authority Chair Susan Weinstein presented a $40,103.14 PILOT for fiscal 2018, and Council on Aging Chair Betsy Soule called the current senior center "embarrassing and shameful."
