Wayland Select Board approves 105 Plain Road historic preservation restriction
WAYLAND -- December 16, 2022, Wayland Select Board closes out 2022 with a Plain Road preservation deal and a tabled holiday-hours request. The board voted 4-0 Friday to approve a historic preservation restriction agreement between the town and Tempesi Brothers One LLC covering 105 Plain Road, after final edits arrived from the state earlier in the week. Gretchen Schuler of the Historical Commission attended as the only public commenter. Members also voted 4-0 to appoint Janot Mendler de Suarez as a voting member of the HRDEI committee, and approved Dec. 5 minutes 3-0 with member Cherry Karlson abstaining. A request to close town building at 4 p.m. on long-day Tuesdays around the holidays died without a motion after Chair Carol B. Martin and member Thomas J. Fay warned against creating precedent "tied to a federal holiday." The board then entered executive session to discuss negotiations with incoming Town Manager Michael McCall.
