Wayland Select Board amends town manager's contract, raises pay
WAYLAND — March 22, 2024 — Wayland Select Board approves contract amendment and pay raise for Town Manager Michael McCall. Chair William Whitney announced the deal after a Friday executive session, saying the board "adjusted his compensation and other terms commensurately" and was "delighted with his performance." The amount was not disclosed; the amendment will be posted once signed. The board also voted 4-0 to refer a revised self-storage zoning petition (Article KK) to the Planning Board under M.G.L. c. 40A §5 and 4-0 to defer a solar compact petition (Article NN) until town meeting. A rewrite of Chapter 43 personnel bylaws was set aside after the Personnel Board unanimously rejected McCall's last-minute edits; member Adam said he would abstain because "I don't really fully understand what I'm voting on." Personnel Board member Marion Peabody told the board her panel is "not adding powers but … relinquishing powers."
