Wayland housing trust approves nearly $17,000 in overdue bills

WAYLAND — September 2, 2025 — Wayland's Municipal Affordable Housing Trust unanimously cleared roughly $16,800 in overdue bills tied to 11 Hammond Road. The 4-0 votes reimbursed the Wayland Housing Authority $12,870 from Community Preservation Act funds for a fiscal-year shortfall driven by a unit turnover and water bills, paid $855 to Cornerstone Engineering for revised site plans, and paid $2,864.50 to law firm Allcock and Marcus for condominium documents. Chair Michael Staiti said vendors were "getting a little bit annoyed" after the town tightened invoice approval rules. Member Mary M. Antes will cover a Sept. 9 ZBA hearing on a footprint change for Habitat for Humanity. The board declined to pursue a roughly $1.5 million purchase of 14 West Plain Street, citing prohibitive conversion costs without a shared-living partner.
