Wayland Finance Committee Votes 5-0 to Seek No-Override Fiscal 2028 Budget

Wayland Finance Committee votes unanimously to prefer a no-override budget for fiscal year 2028. "The train maybe isn't going 100 miles an hour, maybe it's slowed to 75 at the moment," Barnes said, describing the School Committee's posture on a three-year override after it learned the town may also pursue a debt exclusion for a $2 million Massachusetts School Building Authority feasibility study. The committee also unanimously appointed Barnes as its representative to the new Fire Department Staffing Working Group.
