Wayland Cultural Council extends library grant deadline, declines town green commitment

WAYLAND — June 13, 2023 — Wayland Cultural Council extends a library grant deadline and declines a recurring town green sponsorship. The seven-member council, chaired by Rachel Seidman-Kurtz, voted unanimously June 13 to give the Wayland Free Public Library more time to seek reimbursement on a prior-year grant, and declined an economic development committee request to sponsor an annual town green event at roughly $1,000 a year, with member Ashley Fuller saying the commitment made her "super nervous" against a state allocation of roughly $6,000 to $7,000. Naresh is taking over treasurer duties from outgoing member Sean. Student liaison Annabelle Zhang is moving toward formal appointment as a non-voting youth member. Seidman-Kurtz thanked Jane Purser, whose term ends June 30, at her final meeting.
