Conservation Commission orders peer review on 24 School Street wetlands

WAYLAND — June 14, 2023 — Wayland Conservation Commission orders peer review on School Street townhouses, warns Lundy Lane addition exceeds riverfront cap. At the June 14 meeting, Chair Sean Fair led a unanimous vote authorizing Conservation Administrator Linda Hansen to retain an independent consultant to re-examine wetland and stream delineations at 24 School Street, where Chris D'Antonio of Wynds Replace LLC is proposing seven townhouses; member Luke Legere, who first floated the compromise, said the applicant's good-faith letter was "pretty much in line" with his suggestion. The commission separately told the applicants for a 5 Lundy Lane addition that their plan would alter 5,436 square feet of riverfront — above the 5,000-square-foot state cap. "It's always been a combination of the both," member Barbara Howell said of counting existing and new impervious area. The hearing was continued to June 28.
