WAYLAND — June 27, 2023 — Wayland assessors rescind June 13 tax vote, recommit $41.7M after parcel-value error. The Board of Assessors voted unanimously Tuesday to rescind its June 13 FY2024 preliminary commitment after staff found that 22 to 25 parcels had been processed using FY2024 values rather than the required prior-year figures. The corrected commitment totals $41,658,230.08: $40,583,259.22 in real estate, $533,023.79 in personal property and $541,947.07 in CPA. Director of Assessing Rob credited treasurer's office staffer Greg Copeland — "eagle eye himself" — for catching the Munis software error. The board separately approved a $651,057.43 FY2023 supplemental commitment covering 13 properties, the bulk tied to the Rivers Edge development, which Rob said is adding roughly $50 million in supplemental value this year on top of $22 million captured in FY2023.
