WAYLAND — July 14, 2025 — Wayland assessors reject personal property billing thresholds, pivot to consolidated mailings. The Board of Assessors on July 14 unanimously declined to waive personal property bills below set values after Director of Assessing Rob showed a $10,000 threshold would shed 110 accounts but cost $7,177.30 in revenue, while $5,000 and $1,000 cutoffs would forgo $3,480.80 and $201.63 respectively. "If we're going to do all the work, we might as well send a bill and not cost the town revenue," the director said. Chair Zachariah L. The board separately approved a $140,451.30 third motor vehicle excise commitment to issue July 18, and is weighing combining quarterly mailings to save more than $10,000 annually.
