Wayland Assessors approve $2 million motor vehicle excise commitment

WAYLAND — January 24, 2023 — Wayland Assessors approve $2 million motor vehicle excise commitment. The Board of Assessors on Jan. 24 unanimously approved the first calendar 2023 excise warrant, covering 11,422 bills with a valuation of $80,871,070.48 and a tax value of $2,024,884.99, along with a cleanup 2022 commitment of 270 bills totaling $16,711.78. Chair Zachariah L. Ventress, Steven Klitgord and Sharon Burke participated remotely. Director Matt Petras reported six real estate and personal property abatement applications received against a Feb. 1 deadline, with staff handling "12 to 24 phone calls a day," and said Vision Government Solutions' rollover of FY2023 values to the town website remains incomplete, with one parcel escalated to a vendor analyst. The board then entered executive session to discuss two Appellate Tax Board dockets and a Framingham betterment abatement at 307 Old Connecticut Path.
